                                           Butter Education
Shea Butter: Shea butter is a skin superfood that comes from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea (Karite) tree and that is naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F. It offers UV protection, and provides the skin with essential fatty acids and the nutrients necessary for collagen production. Shea butter has been used in Africa and many other locations for years to improve skin and hair. It also has a long history of medicinal use, such as in wound care and even treating leprosy.
  • Reduces Inflammation: A 2010 study found that due to its cinnamic acid and other natural properties, shea butter was anti-inflammatory. One compound in particular, lupeol cinnamate, was found to reduce skin inflammation and even potentially help avoid skin mutations. This also makes it beneficial for some people with acne.
  • Skin Smoothing: Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. With long-term use, many people report skin softening and strengthening as well as wrinkle reduction.

Mango Butter: Mango butter is obtained from the kernels of the mango tree. It has a high content of stearic acid. Mango butter has good emollient properties and lends protection against the sun. It is said to prevent drying of the skin and formation of wrinkles. Mango butter also reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores elasticity.

Mango butter is truly an anti-age ingredient. It rejuvenates skin due to presence of antioxidants. It helps to neutralize toxins, to generate skin cells renewal and to prevent wrinkle formation.

Some of the most valuable for skin acids in this butter are stearic, oleic (46%), linoleic acids (unsaturated Omega-6 fatty acid). It contains vitamins A, high amount of vitamin E, C, D, group B vitamins, folic acid, calcium, iron, and magnesium.

Kukui Nut Butter:  Light weight emollient butter that promotes skin restructure, its a natural moisturizer that prevents transdermal water loss, sunburn, windburn, and radiation burns as well. Great for people with eczema, psoriasis. and relieves dry chapped skin.  This butter is also great for adding moisture to dry scalp and hair.

Tamanu  Oil : is from a tropical tree once considered sacred in Polynesia.  It is  a calo-phyllic acid and a lactone ( meaning healing) endowed with antibiotic properties. The oil has historically been used for rheumatism, arthritis, joint pains, sores, chapped lips and to heal small wounds.  Tamanu Oil also have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-blood coagulation properties. So its great for healing acne and any other skin disease.

Magnesium Oil: My Magnesium is sourced from the Zechstein Seabed, it is a helper in so many different bodily processes. It Reduce Pain: magnesium can remedy both muscle and nerve pain: it is an excellent muscle relaxant! Strengthen Teeth and Bones: magnesium is a major key to successful calcium absorption. Repair Muscles: Magnesium has long been used by athletes to relieve pain associated with muscle soreness and inflammation.
Sleep Better: Magnesium’s natural muscle relaxant characteristics are part of what makes it such a great sleep aid – given its ability to relax GABA receptors in the brain and nervous system. Improve Dental Health: a magnesium gargle could strengthen oral and dental environments to such an extent that it reduces the risk of mouth cancer. Regulate Diabetes: Migraine Relief:   magnesium supplementation can reduce the frequency of migraines, as migraine sufferers have lower levels of intracellular magnesium during acute migraine attacks. Reduce Symptoms of PMS:

How "The Lady" Got Her Start

Before I established my business, I ran across an expo in Chicago, where I tried a Shea butter product. As someone with eczema, and psoriasis, I was amazed by its moisturizing and nourishing effects on my skin.  When I ran out of the product, I had no card or website to reach the guy I had brought the product from. So I did some research of my own, and found out that there are so many different butters and oils out there, that help with healing my skin problems.

After making these butters for myself, then family members and a few friends, I decided why not make this a business, and help others with dry skin problems similar to mine? Thus The Sophisticated Lady was born and now I'm here!
